What we can help with
- A factual error. A figure that has moved, a source that no longer says what we claim it says, a fee or threshold that has changed. These get fixed and noted.
- A disputed item. If you believe an item has two defensible answers or the keyed answer is wrong, tell us which one and why. This is the most useful message you can send, and it has changed items before.
- Something broken. A figure that will not render, a result that will not appear, a shared link that does not open.
- Questions about the method. Anything the methodology page should answer and does not.
- Press and academic enquiries. Including requests to reuse material with attribution.
What we cannot help with
These are not brush-offs. In each case an answer from us would be worse than no answer.
- Interpreting your score for you. We have no record of your attempt — the test is scored on your device and nothing reaches us. Even if we had it, sixteen items with a ±13 band do not support a personal reading, and the score guide already says everything we could say.
- Anything resembling a diagnosis. Questions about ADHD, dyslexia, giftedness or a change in your thinking belong with a clinician. We are an educational publisher and would be doing you harm by guessing.
- Retrieving a lost result. There is no database. If you have lost the page, the only route is to take the test again, and a second attempt runs about four points high on average.
- Certifying a score. No result from this site is valid evidence anywhere. The terms page lists the specific purposes it cannot serve.
- Assessing a child. The test is normed for 16 and over. A school psychologist and an age-normed instrument are the right route.
Reporting a disputed item
Include the item number shown on the result page and the option letter you think should be correct. If you can say which rule you applied, that is better still — most genuine disputes come down to two rules that both fit the visible evidence, and that is a design fault on our side rather than an error on yours.
Response times
Corrections and item disputes are looked at first. Everything else gets to when it gets to. This is a small operation and there is no support desk behind the form.
Before writing about a score
Almost every question we receive about a personal result is answered by the score guide or by what we have decided not to publish. That is not a deflection: those pages contain the whole of what can honestly be said about a sixteen-item result.
